USPS Mailing Services
From saddle-stitch catalogs and perfect-bound books to full-color postcards, Short Run Printing runs the whole mailing for you — address verification, postal presort, USPS paperwork, and delivery to the Phoenix Business Mail Entry Unit. Upload a list once and reuse it; combine with any print product for a turn-key print-and-mail campaign.
What You Can Mail
Bound Products
Perfect-bound books, saddle-stitch booklets, catalogs, and magazines. Ideal for recurring direct-mail campaigns, subscription fulfillment, and trade-show follow-ups. Most bound pieces mail as USPS Marketing Mail Flats.
Postcards
Short-run and medium-run postcards, printed on our thick card stock with full-bleed color on both sides. Built specifically for postal sizing so they qualify for the lowest USPS postcard rates.
Mail From Your List
Already have your own CSV of customers, prospects, or subscribers? Save it in your account once. Reuse it on every campaign. We’ll keep it current with CASS address verification and NCOA move-update data.
How It Works
Whether it’s your first mailing or your fiftieth, the flow is the same. First-time customers upload a list; returning customers pick from the lists they already have saved in their account.

1. Upload your mailing list
Sign in to your account and upload a CSV or Excel file. Map your columns (name, address, city, state, ZIP) once, and the system remembers the layout for next time.

2. Address verification (CASS)
Every address is validated against the USPS database. Invalid, vacant, and undeliverable rows are flagged for your review so you can correct, keep, or drop them before you pay for postage.
3. Add your print order
Get a quote for your bound product or postcard. At checkout, choose the verified list as the delivery method. We take it from there.
4. We print, sort, and deliver
We print your pieces, run postal presort for the lowest available USPS rates, produce all the required postal forms, and drop the mailing at the Phoenix BMEU.

1. Pick a saved list
Your previously-uploaded lists live in your account. Pick one at checkout and skip upload entirely.

2. We re-run CASS & NCOA
Addresses are re-verified and move-update data is applied, so anyone who’s moved since your last campaign gets routed to their new address automatically. No extra steps from you.
3. Review any new flags
If new vacancies, bad addresses, or moves were found, you’ll see them in a short review — keep, edit, or drop, just like the first time around.
4. We print, sort, and deliver
Same production flow as a first-time campaign. Typical turnaround is production time plus one business day for mail prep and drop.
Saved Mailing Lists
Your lists are stored in your account — persistent, searchable, editable between orders. No more emailing the same CSV to us every campaign.
- Upload once, reuse forever. Every address is CASS-verified at upload and again at every mailing.
- Automatic NCOA move updates. When a recipient moves, we apply the new address at mailing time and write it back to your saved list.
- Add, edit, or remove addresses anytime. Corrections are re-validated immediately.
- Privacy preserved. Your lists aren’t shared, sold, or used outside of the mailings you order.

Pricing
Mailing costs are itemized at checkout so there’s no guessing. You see print, mail prep, USPS postage, and delivery on separate lines.
USPS Marketing Mail
For campaigns of 200+ pieces or 50 lbs total weight. Postage is heavily discounted vs First Class because we presort your mail before handing it to USPS.
- Base mail preparation fee per job
- Per-piece processing charge
- Post-office delivery fee (mail-house drop)
- USPS postage at presorted rates (pass-through)
Exact postage depends on your list’s geographic distribution and piece weight. You’ll see the full breakdown before you approve.
First Class Mail
For smaller runs (under 200 pieces) that don’t hit the Marketing Mail minimum. Pieces are individually addressed and metered.
- Per-piece mail preparation
- Post-office delivery fee
- USPS First Class postage (pass-through, starts at $1.63/piece for standard flats)
Minimum quantity is 50 pieces. Pieces over 13 oz require Priority Mail rates.
Postage is billed at cost. A 3% processing fee applies when postage is charged to a credit card.
Common Questions
What’s the minimum quantity?
50 pieces for First Class. 200 pieces (or 50 lbs total weight) for USPS Marketing Mail — that’s the USPS threshold for bulk presort rates.
Do you handle NCOA (move updates)?
Yes. NCOA is run on every mailing via our NCOALink license. If a recipient has moved within the last 48 months and filed a change of address with USPS, we route to the new address and write the update back to your saved list so future campaigns stay current.
How long does fulfillment take?
Typical lead time is your product’s production window plus one to two business days for mail prep, presort, and delivery to the post office. Rush production is available for time-sensitive campaigns — talk to us.
Can I supply my own USPS permit?
We drop mail under our own mailer permit (“One Stop Mail”) by default, which is what allows the presorted rates. If you’d prefer your own permit imprint, reach out and we’ll walk through the options.
What happens to flagged addresses?
After CASS verification, any addresses flagged as invalid, vacant, moved, or undeliverable are shown to you for review. You can accept the USPS correction, keep the original, edit it, or drop it — so you only pay postage on pieces you actually want delivered.
Can I start a mailing without a list yet?
Absolutely. You can get a print quote first and set up the mailing side whenever your list is ready. Or upload your list to your account now even if you don’t have a print job pending — it stays there for when you need it.
